My Cross References are Greyed Out?

This typically happens because the link between them has been broken. For example, one side could have been placed but then not the other which caused it to be "locked" or greyed out.

Please follow the below steps to resolve. 

  1. Close all instances of Acrobat (all open files and not just the one being worked on)
  2. Open again
  3. Click the "Refresh Cross references" option
  4. Go to Cross references again and this should correct the issue
